Danced to lucid and flowing music by Mozart the opening solo of Unfinished Business is still, I think the best writing I ever came up with for the remarkable Liam Riddick - as the video shows you, in this solo he just flies. There follows part of a darker duet to the slow movement and then a light-footed sprightly trio to Mozart arranged by Busoni.

 

Why the title? Well, having been wonderfully supported by The Arts Council for seventeen years this was the year (2011) in which a change of Arts Council officers began to relentlessly carp at my company's practice. In spite of this we managed to continue our business for another nine years, before bowing to the inevitable and reluctantly deciding we had to close.
